Building a home is never simple. There are thousands of decisions to make, unexpected hurdles, and a tremendous amount of trust required. After beginning our journey with another builder and having a terrible experience, we didn’t realize how much the right team matters until we met Dave Sego Builders. From our very first meeting with Dave, it was clear we would be in excellent hands.

Dave has decades of experience, and it shows in every recommendation and every conversation. His in-house draftsman, who has been with him for decades, did a phenomenal job transforming our ideas into a design that was not only beautiful but far more functional than our original plan. Dave was able to foresee potential issues early, suggest improvements, and guide us toward decisions that made our home better. Because of his insight, we ended up building a very different home than we initially planned, and we could not be happier with the result.

Communication throughout the build was exceptional. Our questions were always answered extremely quickly, often within hours, and whenever trade-offs needed to be discussed, the team offered knowledgeable recommendations without ever pushing us in any particular direction. We always felt heard, supported, and fully informed. The budget process was fair and transparent, the change order process was clear, and we never felt pressured or upsold at any point.

The quality of the build speaks for itself. The attention to detail was fantastic, the subcontractor’s quality was consistently high, and our home feels incredibly solid now that it is complete. A major reason for that is Hunter, Dave’s project manager. Hunter is one of the biggest keys to why Dave builds such a high-quality home. He has an exceptional eye for detail, extremely high standards, and treats every build as if it were his own. He kept the project on schedule with strong coordination across every trade, and the only delay we experienced was an unavoidable one due to weather.

If we had to offer one piece of constructive feedback, it would simply be a desire for a bit more communication around the intended timeline at certain points. But even with that note, the overall experience was very smooth, and the team made the entire process feel manageable, something few people can honestly say during a custom home build.

We received a very fair value for the quality of home we now have, and the entire build team was fantastic from start to finish. We are incredibly proud of our home. And the biggest endorsement we can give is this: if we ever build again, we would choose Dave Sego Builders again in a heartbeat. We have known Dave Sego for many years through racing and have always admired the beautiful, high-quality homes he had built. We are so happy we found Dave Sego Builders to build our new home! From the first meeting to the day the keys were turned over the experience was exceptional. We had a partial plan and Dave, Barry and Mike worked hard to make the plan come to life. Then when the construction started Hunter was there every step of the way. The communication was the best. Hunter’s attention to detail at the construction site is amazing. He became like part of our family. The trades people were great, very easy to work with. We used their recommendations although we wouldn’t have had to but they don’t recommend anyone who isn’t good and easy to work with.

We love our new home. I never thought I would have a home like this but Dave and company made it happen! Don’t hesitate giving them a call, you won’t be sorry!
